Giulio Chiandetti, guitarist, was born in Gorizia, Italy, in 1962. He studied the guitar with Bruno Tonazzi at the "G.Tartini" Conservatory in Trieste, where he received his diploma in 1982. Later he attended master-classes held by well-known concert artists as B.Davezac, A.Diaz, J.Tomas and experts in ancient music such as J.Hinohosa and H.Smith. He also studied the guitar with Ruggero Chiesa. He then went on to obtain his diploma in piano and study musical composition. He has won several national guitar contests; he has performed as a soloist and in chamber groups in Italy and abroad (France, Slovenia, Greece, Germany, Egypt, Finland, the U.S.A. and Ukraine). He has recorded for the RAI (I), N.D.R. (G) and RTV Ljubljana (SLO) and some composers have written guitar works specially for him. Chamber music repertoire being his main interest, he regularly performs with preofessional singers. He is a well-known teacher in the region.
