Guido Arbonelli (born in Perugia) finished his studies at the Conservatory in Perugia with highest honors. He has been a member of Italian and foreign orchestras and has taken part in concerts as soloist, with the Namaste clarinet quartet and other groups. His meetings with contemporary composers (Donatoni,Risset,Grillo,Testi,Strobl,etc.) gave him unique experience with the contemporary repertoire. Of great importance is his soloistic activity, using the whole clarinet family of conteporary repertoires dedicated to him (about 300 works). He has collaborated with the most important Italian festivals and taken part in concerts in Hungary, England, Middelburg festival/ The Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Fylkingen and Boras/Sweden, Review of composers/Belgrade, Malta fest/Malta, Orpheus/Belgium, Musica Nova/Brasil, Iscm/ Albania, Spectrum/Austria, New music/Miami Usa, Art Institute/Chicago, Italian Institute in Turkey, Albania, Belgrade, Stockholm. He has recorded for Crescendo, Rusty records, Pentaphon, MPA, Agenda, Pizzicato, Eridania, Egea, MPS, Capstone and for Italian, Dutsch, Yugoslavian, Brazilian, Schwedish, Maltesian, Austrian, Slovenian, Israelian, Californian radios. Since 1984 he has won 12 first prizes in national and international competitions. In 1995 he won the International Gaudeamus Prize (Rotterdam). He is teacher at the Conservatory in Adria. He is also author of teaching methods, arrangements and compositions for clarinet. With his work Immagini da Auschwitz he won an Italian composition prize.
