Roberto Maria Cucinotta was born in Monza and received his musical training from Conservatory of Verona. He subsequently took advanced courses in interpretation with Jean Langlais, Ton Koopman and Tini Mathot, Emilia Fadini, Wilhelm Krumbach and Alberto Basso. Il 1985, he won the Donato Marrone National Organ Competition. He was also classified in the ninth edition of the Noale(Venice) Organ Competition devoted to music for the organ by J.S.Bach. Since 1980, he has held the position of Organist to the Great Organ of the Church of St. Biagio in Monza and since 1985 he has been Honorary Organist of the "Grande Organo Romantico Orchestrale" of Insigne Collegiata in Alassio. He has held hundred of concerts, including many tests and inaugurations of major new and restored organs and also takes an interest in design aspects. He teaches Complementary Organ and Gregorian Chant and holds concerts as a soloist and composer in various strumental, vocal and orchestral formations. In 1997 he completed a major tour, performing on prestigious organs in Japan and also at the piano. He has composed several pieces for the organ, racing from free style to conterpoint, with the compositions aimed at valorizing the ancient Gregorian mode, reworked with a contemporary pattern. He is also the composer of music for the voice and piano performed at held both in Italy and abroad and published by Pizzicato, Carrara, Pro Arte e Musica, Berben. His performances have always received a warm welcome from public and critics alike for their interpretative clarity style and search for a personal musical language.
