Description

* 1956 Bologna (IT)

Andrea Toschi was born in 1956 in Bologna, where he attended the Conservatory “G.B.Martini” and earned his Diploma in Organ in 1982, having participated in many master classes with famous organists. The same year, he also graduated from the University of Bologna with a degree in Agrarian Sciences. Since 1983 he has been teaching Organ in Italian Conservatories; currently he is teaching at the “Francesco Venezze” in Rovigo. He is very busy on the concert circuit, both in Italy and abroad (including Europe and South America), mostly as a soloist but also in chamber music with trumpet, violin, four hands/two organs and with orchestra. His repertoire runs the gamut from ancient to modern music, and he is regularly called upon to unveil restoration of historic Italian instruments; he frequently premieres contemporary music dedicated to him. In 2002 he became organist at St. Agostino Church, Modena (Facchetti organ, 1517/19). He has published vocal and organ music with Pizzicato.
